Is it normal for guys to become dental assistants?

I am really interested in dental stuff, apparently becoming a dentist takes a lot of time and money and so I was it normal, as a guy, to become a dental assistant?

I can't remember ever having a male dental assistant, but I see no reason why a male couldn't do the job. I work in nursing which is traditionally female, and there are a huge number of male nurses these days.

It didn't used to be, but it is more now. The blanket discrimination by females against males entering their 'female professions' is changing. I hope you do become an assistant and get 10 male friends to as well. Males can do any job better or just as well as females can, plus it's the law!
