    Yes,I would have to take 3 flights to get back.

    My niece was stuck on an escalator one time for more than 6 hours waiting for the power to come back on....

    That's what I like about escalators....they never break down. They only become stairs.

    I never use an escalator I always take the necessary steps to avoid them.

      Yes. I have often wondered why they can never get the speed right. On some of the long London ones, you would need an arm about 10 feet long.

    Another old fart reminisces off-topic ramble :

    In the early 60s we naughty schoolboys would bugger the lifts (elevators) in the Slough Co-op by stopping them just before the floor, forcing open the gates (those old criss-cross things) and getting out, leaving the lift useless until an engineer arrived to fix it.
