Why does Great Britain/United Kingdom/Republic of Ireland have the best music?

Not saying America doesn’t have great musicians (Elvis, Michael Jackson, The Doors, Prince, Aerosmith to name a few) but look who Great Britain and Ireland/UK have: The Beatles, The Who, David Bowie, Elton John, LED Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Billy Idol, U2 to name several)

We have B.B. King, Albert King, Bo Diddley, Crosby Stills and Nash, Neil Young, Aretha Franklin, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, Patsy Cline, Bruce Springsteen, Joni Mitchell, Janis Joplin, Jimmi Hendrix, Ray Charles, Little Richard, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Talking Heads, Carlos Santana, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, Ella Fitzgerald, Thelonius Monk, Wynton Marsalis, Count Basie, Chick Corea, and Buddy Rich, just to name a few. Okay, some of them may be Canadians, but culturally they are as American as apple pie.

Hendrix was born in America, but the Experience is from London and that’s where Hendrix made his mark.

    🥴 Yeah. Stolen American genres.

They may be great, but they ripped off our genres.

Regardless, of whether or not they were better? You wouldn't have it if America didn't provide it. 😄
