Because they WANT America to buy into their agenda. America? That takes a backseat to their agenda.

Their short term objective is to damage Trump in advance of the 2020 election.

Their long term objective is to destroy the USA.

All they have is Hope hope that the country goes down in flames so they can have a chance to win.

BS.  liberals are NOT 'rooting for a recession'.  If a recession comes, the poor and middle class will suffer, not the rich.

They are not rooting for a recession but they expect one because Trump does not know how to do anything except to bankrupt the organizations that he manages. He is currently running a one trillion dollar a year deficit, and it does not take an Einstein to figure out that it is not sustainable, because if there is a recession, the deficit will get even worse. The Tariff Boy is driving up prices with his new toy and consumers are buying less because of higher prices. That means retailers have to raise the price even higher because they have a fixed overhead of rent and employees and utilities. Just because they sell less things does not mean that they pay less rent, less utilities and less wages. The Tariff Boy is costing farmers billions of dollars and driving many of them into bankruptcy.
