I have a Honda civic 2015, it s fairly new. My battery completely died, and when I tried to jumpstart as usual (I ve had ongoing battery isues for a while now) it did not start. At first I thought they were cables, so I tried another set of cables, when I connected the lines, sparks were produced and I could see smoke where the plastic lining on the clasps were melting. When I tried to take it off, it was extremely hot to to touch. This was really weird to me, this never happens. I connected them correctly, so I tried two other cables, same thing. I ended up changing my car battery, thinking my battery simply died. The car still won t start after changing the battery, and no lights come on when I try to start the car. It s completely dead. No response from pushing the start button. Did I short a circuit or is this a bigger issue than I originally thought ?

My friend and I financed a Honda Civic 2017 earlier this year. Both our names are on the title. My friend uses the vehicle for Über/Lyft. He has been in two accidents- both times he was at fault transporting passengers. He continues to provide transportation services without any inspection of the vehicle despite clear physical damages and quite possibly damages that might endanger the occupants. I was told even though I do not use the car, I would still have liability for the fact my name is on the car. I have been proactive contacting Lyft and Über regarding this accident but was brushed off. I believe this is a clear act of negligence and would not want any association with him or the vehicle if something were to happen. What are the proper steps to resolve this issue? I have considered surrendering the vehicle but hesitant and unsure if that I am allowed because he has made majority of the payments due to the fact I do not utilize he car.

When I stop on a cross street or I idle, the temperature slowly rises up to the "H" but once I accelerate or move the car, it slowly goes back to normal. My A.c works perfectly either way. What could be the problem? How much would it cost? It's a 2005 Honda civic ex. Thanks.

My parents were searching for a car for me for awhile. Finally, after months, they found one & bought it for me without me knowing. It was surprisingly cheap for the amount of miles it had on it. Even though I didn't really like it, I was so grateful because I finally had a car & it was very nice of them to buy it. I signed papers and the car is in my name. However, within the first couple weeks, all these problems arise in the car. It needed new parts. Since the car was cheap, my parents were kind enough to purchase some new parts. Then, I find out that the same problem keeps happening even after we got new parts. Now, I may have to get a new battery to fix it. We don't even know for sure if it will fix the problem. I looked up this problem with my car and it turns out thousands of the same car that i have got a recall for this problem. I feel like it's unable to be fixed. Is it spoiled of me to think that I shouldn't have to pay to fix it since I never had a say in purchasing it?

  • What's the truth about letting your car get under half a tank?

Is it really that bad? I see why under a quarter tank can put stress on your fuel pump. But half a tank seems a little over caution. Anyone agree

  • If your passenger significantly outweighs you on a motorcycle is this a problem? I'm a new rider looking to get the Honda 250, so its a fair?

I've carried a passenger my own weight (150 lb) on a 175cc Honda -progress is not fast but you'll get there. As someone else has written look at the specs for max load for the... show more

Seriously carrying a pillion who outweighs you, with both of you inexperienced is an accident waiting to happen. IF it's legal in your location I'd advise you spending a good hour riding around a reserve on the grass before you try on the road. ( a nervous heavy pillion can put you right off the road - happened to me.)
