I am 20 years old, and today I have no job and I'm not in college. I do not want any friends (though I do have quite a few "imaginary" friends), I'm currently living off SSI and all I do is listen to music, look at pictures of my favorite cartoon characters on my computer, randomly go around town using public transit, and ruminate about my dreams of traveling. People want me to change this, but I refuse to. I've tried volunteering at several places, but would never last very long there (I'd either get into a fight/argument with the staff, or get bored of it after a week or two). I mean, I volunteered at places I like, but it would never work out. If I got a paying job, the same thing would probably happen. I hate giving up my free time to regularly do things I don't even want to do! I'm not lazy, I just want to do and get whatever I want! It seems like everyone looks forward to getting a job or set life routine after high school, as for me, I just want to do whatever I want! The only reason I've tried to have a career is because some people are pushing me to, and it makes me very angry. People often suggest getting a job that focuses on my interests, but I've technically already tried doing that (by volunteering) and would always fail. Just because I love the subject doesn't mean I would enjoy working for it (in fact, I hate it). I don't want any set career, I just want to do whatever I want! Is this ok, or do I really need to change my life?

Your English skills are not all that bad, and you can certainly do something about that! Even if you have to take remedial English at your technical or vocational school. But frankly, you're not really bad enough to really need remedial classes. You just need to do some independent study (e.g. grammar, spelling) & pay attention to what you're doing. Your worst problem here was you started missing words & forgot your capitals. Pay attention to what you're doing, review your work, and you can fix that.

  • Why did people lose their homes during the recession?

I don't understand how people lost their homes when they could just pay the monthly mortgage payments. Did the payments go up? Did people's day jobs salary get reduced?

My friend and I are both college students and decided to get our first apartment together in January. We live in a 4-bedroom college apartment and our other roommate is a random the property managers matched for us. About a week into moving in, she told us her boyfriend would stay for a little bit at times but he would be gone majority of the time because he travels for work. At first this was true, as he would only stay for a couple days then leave for a week/couple weeks at a time - so we had no issue with this. But we noticed about four months ago that he stopped traveling. Ever since then, he's been living with us every single day. She stopped working so he's paying for her rent, but he's not on the lease at all. It actually says in the lease that only one person is allowed to each unit so technically she is breaching her lease, and I'm positive the managers don't know about him living here. We're going to have a fourth roommate moving in soon to fill up the final room, and him being there makes the apartment seem so much more crowded. It's awkward, they don't contribute anything to the apartment even though they cause the most mess/take up the most space, and it's gotten to the point where we hate living here. Should we just take this situation to the leasing office? We're pretty sure she's not going to make him move out if we just talk to her about it and it's going to cause drama. We've already been extremely patient with her.

But they are very tight with their money because they value money A LOT. If i spent £2 in the corner shop my Dad would say: "£2? Have you lost the plot?!?!" I really want to buy something that is £15 on ebay but my parents don t give me any pocket money and don t let me buy anything. Excuse: "we are saving money for you and your siblings to go to a good university" So do you think they will be angry if I buy something that is £15 online without using their permission

Most of you guys got angry with me and urged that I get a job regardless if I don't like it (a lot of you were very insensitive), and that really angered me. However, I came up with a compromise: I will get a job if I can work at home. Is this possible? If so, what jobs exists where I can do so? Thanks.
