Why are states that don’t have stay at home orders and haven’t closed non essential businesses seeing some of the lowest fatality rates?

Best answer: People make the mistake of assuming that "stay at home" order necessarily means people in a state are practicing more social distancing than in states that don't have such orders.  That's not at all true.

As others have already pointed out, "stay at home" orders don't actually require people to stay at home.  Even people who are remote working from home can leave their home every day and go to crowded venues so long as they can argue those venues are "essential", so stay at home orders do not enforce social distancing.

People playing golf or walking in a nature preserve in Iowa (no stay at home order) are spreading the disease much less than someone in NY (stay at home order) taking the subway to Costco.

Getting people to comply with a stay at home order doesn't help if they are still going to crowded venues often.  It's getting people to practice social distancing that matters.  A lower population density of course makes social distancing easier.

What do I do if my parents refuse to let my boyfriend move in to our house? ?

I’m pregnant and still living with my parents. They said that they will not let my boyfriend move in to help raise the baby. That’s not good because if my boyfriend isn’t there to help, it will be like I’m a single mom doing everything myself. I’m also not comfortable with my child spending nights over at his house.

Best answer: This isn't conspiracy, I'd say its more of a generalization.

Yes, Hollywood and Big Tech bend a knee to China. Despite being American companies they take orders from the CCP in order to be allowed to sell their products in China.

This isn't communism, its fascism. And it's happening because of greed. Companies are putting our nation's principles aside for tainted money from a fascist regime. Consumerists endlessly buy cheap crap without a care in the world of the exploitation that goes into getting the costs that low.

People need to accept the fact that these low prices are artificial. Corporations need to accept for a fact it is unethical to rely on the Chinese market and labor to sell and manufacture their products. But unfortunately these practices and artificially low prices have become the new normal.

China is just as much a part of our economy as the mom and pop store on your neighborhood street corner. Whats the point of making a minimum wage when a Chinese worker will do the job for less? People talk a lot about wealth inequality but they are really only considering the inequality within our borders, the real exploitation, the absolute bottom of our economy, is overseas, out of sight out of mind.

It is time for the entirety of the western world to fundamentally restructure their economies and cut China out. We have a moral imperative to do so. These practices are unsustainable and carry a moral burden with them. America and other nations must bring back manufacturing. You can already see by the coronavirus crisis why this is necessary. We cannot rely on China during times like these, they are ruled by a fascist regime.

Why did the British and Germany fight each other in World War II when they were both white?

Hitler NEVER wanted war with Britain; he had great respect for them. France I can understand, they had it coming preparing for war with their "Maginot Line"; you don't prepare for war with Germany and not expect to get what's coming to you; the French needed to be taught a lesson and put in their place. Britain on the other hand. Hitler considered Britain a brother nation to Germany. Nothing could've stopped Germany and Britain standing together, they would've made France and other nations completely bow down to them.

Can a job fire you due to Covid-19?

Best answer: Where does your friend work at and what exactly is his proof you vaguely mention? Does your friend have: A) Hard copy medical leave instructions/documentation from his workplace HR Department? B) Hard copy medical documentation detailing his doctor's office visit and any physician's documentative notations about any treatments, testing, etc...??

Generally, most work offices instruct employees who take off work for medical reasons to provide such medical documentation--which is kept under strict confidentiality discretion handling within the HR Department, as per any labor laws governing that particular U.S. State as mandated under Federal law(s) as well.

So your friend DOES have rights to file for unemployment AND he also should look into filing a complaint with the EEOC office under the State of Georgia. Seeking a consultation with a reputable labor law attorney is recommended as well.

Also something to consider: It's possible there are a few "workplace political dynamics" hiding behind HR Department stated workplace medical leave policies as their TRUE reason(s) for them career terminating your friend.

If that IS the REAL reason your friend was "career terminated", then it's evident they simply don't want him working for them anymore--so why then would your friend want to continue working for someone who doesn't like him in the first place?

Even IF your friend is legally protected in being career reinstated---his angry boss(es) will simply lay in wait for finding another opportunity to end his employment.

So even IF Georgia employment law AND Federal employment laws favor your friend's career reinstatement......it just might be better he seek better employment opportunity somewhere else.
