• Why don't they invent a washer and dryer in the same machine?

Best answer: Also quite common in Europe. One reason not quite so popular here in the USA is that you can only do one load from start to finish, rather than being able to start another load in the washer once the first load goes into the dryer.

I got rid of any moisture that could be in my room and we recently got our windows replaced and that got rid of all the mold growing around it. I started cleaning my room, vacuuming, and wiping down furniture with pledge and spraying Lysol. I still find one or two crawling on my desk. How can I know for sure I got rid of them all? I don't want to start putting stuff back into my room just for them to start crawling all over my stuff. Any more tips on how to get rid of these things please

  • How should i get the smell of mothballs from a garment?

Best answer: Well, the smell of mothballs isn't going to ruin a washer. I would suggest you put the bandana's out in the sun. Sunlight is a deodorant. After a day in the fresh air, you can feel free to wash them if they don't swell okay.

  • Advice on using new washing machine?

Best answer: Sort by weights and colors. I pull reds, blacks, browns and navy blues all into one load so if the red bleeds into anything, it won't show. Especially strong, bright colors may go in this load too, especially if it's not already heavy with red items.

Pants and similarly heavy items all go together. That way they don't beat up the more delicate items.

Whites and light colors go together, this usually includes lightweight fabrics so bras and panties go in this load too.

Put dirty clothes in. When loading a front-loading machine, I pack the clothes by patting as firmly as I would if I were burping a baby. When there is a fist's height of space between the top of the clothes pile and the upper part of the basket, that's full.

Add the recommended amount of detergent. READ THE PACKAGE to determine what is the recommended amount - the scoop they include is probably four times as big as that. Toss that amount of detergent in.

Turn on the machine, select Cold Wash, Cold Rinse. Select the load size if the machine doesn't do it for you. Press Start. Walk away.

I never, ever use hot wash or rinse. I'm a handyman and get pretty dirty sometimes, and my clothes always come out clean. Even better, the elastic in my underwear lasts longer with cold wash.

Don't use fabric softeners or bleach. Your detergent probably has enough of that stuff in it already, and don't bother with dryer sheets either. Static cling isn't ruining your life and if you're already using scented detergent (and please, for the love of God, DON'T), then you're just confusing the issue with yet another artificial smell added on. DON'T DO THAT.

Bras hang to dry, unless they're wireless. Even then, I'd be leery of drying all that elastic. It lasts longer and works better the less you heat it.

    That's it.
